About Zoshigaya Kishimojin-do
Kishimojin-do is the religious site south of the station, not a Sunshine extra. The image was found in 1561 and housed here from 1578. The present hall was given in 1664 by Jisho-in, wife of Asano Mitsuakira. It survived 1923 and 1945. Designated a National Important Cultural Property on 25 July 2016. Homyoji (Nichiren) runs the precinct. A 700-year ginkgo is a Tokyo natural monument. Oeshiki on 16–18 October is the local festival: mandō lanterns from Mejiro and from Ikebukuro East / Seibu. Bon odori in July, hatsumode 1–7 January. Office 09:00–17:00, 03-3982-8347. No photography inside the hall. Walk from Zoshigaya or Kishimojin-mae, not only from Ikebukuro.
