About This Event / イベントについて
Minami-Ikebukuro Park, a short walk from the south exit of Ikebukuro Station, is a compact but beloved neighborhood hanami spot. Somei-yoshino cherry trees line the central lawn, and the park is small enough that even a single bloom turns it pink.
During peak bloom (usually the last week of March) the trees are lit softly in the evening. Unlike larger parks, it is quiet, free, and open around the clock — popular with locals on lunch breaks and families with small children. Pair it with a coffee from the cafes on Meiji-dori or a walk to the older Zoshigaya neighborhood nearby.
池袋駅南口から徒歩圏内の南池袋公園は、コンパクトながら地元に愛される花見スポット。中央の芝生をソメイヨシノが縁取り、一本咲くだけで公園全体が淡いピンクに染まります。
見頃（通常3月最終週）には夜間のライトアップも。大きな公園と違い、静かで無料、24時間開園。昼休みのビジネスパーソンや小さな子供連れの家族によく利用されています。明治通り沿いのカフェと合わせたり、近くの古い街並み残る雑司ヶ谷へ散歩するのがおすすめです。

平日の朝が最も穏やかに楽しめます。
Evening illumination runs roughly 18:00–21:00 during peak bloom.
夜間ライトアップは見頃期間中18:00～21:00頃。
Pair with a walk to Zoshigaya — 10 minutes on foot.
雑司ヶ谷まで徒歩10分。合わせて散歩するのがおすすめ。
