Gyumon Ikebukuro is part of the Gyumon Group, which opened Japan's first halal wagyu yakiniku restaurant in Shibuya back in 2007. This Ikebukuro branch specialises in halal wagyu ramen, serving A5-grade halal-certified wagyu beef in two signature broths - a rich, creamy beef white soup and an original spicy miso. The restaurant opened on 22 March 2024 on the fourth floor near Ikebukuro's west exit. Diners can pair the noodles with other wagyu dishes such as gyukatsu and sukiyaki, all prepared without pork or alcohol in keeping with halal principles. Seating is limited to around 30, so it can fill up during busy periods. A dedicated prayer room makes the venue particularly welcoming for Muslim visitors exploring Tokyo. Whether you are after a comforting bowl of beef broth or keen to try a new take on wagyu, Gyumon offers something genuinely distinctive in one of Tokyo's busiest dining districts. Pop in for lunch or dinner and savour the result of nearly two decades of halal wagyu craftsmanship.
