Opened in February 2023 on the B1 floor of Sunshine City ALTA, Kissaten Pinokio is run by Fujio Food System and built around the idea of a kissaten that hands down Japan good old culture. The room is woody and warm, with box-table seating and a small counter, and the air carries the scent of freshly ground coffee. Its concept invites guests to feel as though they have travelled back to childhood, returning to the comfort of an old-fashioned coffee shop. The menu leans into classic yoshoku and kissaten favourites, with the most popular Pinokio Plate pairing a hamburger with fluffy omurice, alongside nostalgic napoletana, chicken nanban and a daily lunch set with miso soup. Sweet tooths are looked after with the signature two-tier hotcake served with butter and maple syrup, a soft-cream-topped melon cream soda and a matcha shiratama pudding parfait. Hours run from 11:00 to 21:00 with last orders at 20:30, and budgets sit comfortably in the 1,001 to 2,000 yen band for both lunch and dinner. For shoppers taking a breather in Sunshine City or anyone craving the unhurried flavour of a Showa kissaten, Pinokio offers a gentle, nostalgic pit stop. It is a place to linger over coffee and comfort food, and a quiet counterpoint to the buzz of the mall above.
