About This Event / イベントについて
The Metropolitan Street Illumination is an Ikebukuro West Gate winter tradition, now in its 10th year. Approximately 40,000 LED lights illuminate the street between the station and Hotel Metropolitan, creating a warm corridor of light.
The lights are on daily from 17:00 to 01:00, making it a perfect evening stroll destination. Free to view, and it pairs well with the Hotel Metropolitan Christmas display and the Ikebukuro West Gate Park Extreme Illumination.
As of 16 October 2026 the 2026–27 lighting dates have not been posted on the organiser pages cited here. The window below is the typical season from the last confirmed run, not a freshly announced 2026 timetable.
メトロポリタン通りイルミネーションは池袋西口の冬の風物詩。10年目を迎え、約4万球のLEDが駅からホテルメトロポリタンまでの通りを彩ります。
毎日17:00～翌1:00点灯。夜の散歩に最適。無料で観覧でき、ホテルメトロポリタンのクリスマス展示や池袋西口公園のextremeイルミネーションと合わせて楽しめます。
