About This Event / イベントについて
Hanamatsuri celebrates the birth of Buddha. At Zoshigaya Kishimojindo, a small flower-decorated hall (hanamidō) is set up in the temple grounds, housing a statue of the baby Buddha. Visitors ladle sweet tea (amacha) over the statue in a gentle, contemplative ritual.
The temple is dedicated to Kishimojin, the goddess of safe childbirth and child-rearing, making this celebration especially meaningful for families. The event is free, quiet, and welcoming — a peaceful spring ritual far from the crowds of Ikebukuro, just 15 minutes on foot from the station.
花まつりはお釈迦様の誕生を祝う行事。雑司ヶ谷鬼子母神堂では境内に花御堂が設けられ、お釈迦様の誕生仏に甘茶を注ぎます。穏やかで落ち着いた儀式です。
鬼子母神堂は安産・子育ての神様を祀るため、子育て中の家族にとって特に意味深い行事。無料で静か、そして歓迎的な雰囲気。池袋駅から徒歩15分で、都会の喧騒から離れた春の行事です。
