About This Event / イベントについて
Homyoji Temple (法明寺) is a historic Buddhist temple in Minami-Ikebukuro, and its cherry blossom season is one of Toshima's hidden gems. The temple approach (sando) is lined with cherry trees, and the grand wooden gate is framed by Somei Yoshino blossoms at peak bloom.
The temple is the parent body of Zoshigaya Kishomojindo — the two are walking distance apart, making a combined temple-and-cherry-blossom walking tour easy. Peak bloom usually falls in the last week of March to early April. Free to visit, quiet, and far from the festival crowds.
法明寺は南池袋にある歴史ある仏教寺院で、桜の季節は豊島区の隠れた名所。参道には桜並木が続き、山門がソメイヨシノの花で覆われる見頃は壮観です。
法明寺は雑司ヶ谷鬼子母神堂の本体寺院で、両者は徒歩圏内。合わせて散策するのがおすすめ。見頃は通常3月最終週～4月上旬。入場無料、静か、そして賑わう公園とは違う落ち着いた花見が楽しめます。
